Agile concepts are implemented in Engineering and lean manufacturing concepts are being utilized as part of our production process.


AMETEK has optimized supply chain management to encompass the whole production process from design to manufacture, and from early supplier involvement to end-of-life planning. Our procurement professionals continuously assess and refine our supplier base by establishing long-term relationships with companies that share our commitment to excellence. By developing these relationships, AMETEK has been able to significantly reduce lead times and cost enabling us to deliver cost effective solutions on time.

We insist that only suppliers with the resources, infrastructure, and business systems to support continuous improvement can service AMETEK in partnering with our customers. We work closely with our customers' commodity and purchasing management groups, recognizing that often our supplier is also theirs.



As per the Restrictions of Hazardous Substances directive (RoHS), electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) must not contain any of six hazardous substances in concentrations greater than 0.1% by weight to homogenous material: lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybromindated biphenyls, and prolybrominated diphenyl ethers. With respect to the European Union Directive 2002/96/EC (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), AMETEK Programmable Power equipment is compliant with the directive and marked appropriately.

With respect to the European Union Directive 2011/65/EU (Restriction of Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (RoHS)), AMETEK is compliant with the directive and marked appropriately on products sold into the European Union member countries following July 22, 2017.


On June 1st, 2007, the EU's Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemical substances legislation went into force (EC 1907/2006). This legislation holds industry responsible for understanding and limiting the repercussions that chemicals may have on the environment and human life. The responsibility of each company depends on the types of product they place into the EU market. As a manufacturer of electronic devices, AMETEK Programmable Power and VTI Instruments brands (AMETEK) products are considered “articles” per the REACH legislation. As such, AMETEK is not required to register as a producer of “substances” or “preparations”. AMETEK does not produce or import chemical substances in excess of 1 tonne per year and there is not “intended release” of substances into the environment during normal operation within their published environmental specifications. As part of AMETEK's downstream user obligations, we continue to work with our vendors as items are added to the candidate list.
